Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has reduced operations at its 193,000-b/d Presidente Getulio Vargas refinery (Repar) at Araucaria, Parana, Brazil, following a small fire at the plant on Nov. 28.
About 10% of the refinery’s distillation unit U-2100, where the fire occurred (OGJ Online, Dec. 2, 2013), has been closed down by Brazil’s Labor Prosecution Office, Petrobras said in an e-mail to OGJ.
Normal operations at the refinery are expected to resume on Dec. 17, and the incident will not affect Petrobras’s supplies to the market, the company said.
