Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP subsidiary Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. LLC (TGP) has completed a successful open season for 500,000 dth/day of incremental, north-to-south natural gas transportation capacity on the TGP system.

A binding open season closed Dec. 11, and six different shippers received 400,000 dth/day of long-term capacity and 100,000 dth/day of short-term capacity.

The awarded capacity will provide firm transportation service for Marcellus and Utica play production from receipt points as far north as Mercer, Pa., for delivery to multiple delivery points on the Gulf Coast.

TGP on Nov. 1 placed in service the fully subscribed Northeast Upgrade Project, boosting capacity on its 300 Line system in Pennsylvania and New Jersey by 636 MMcfd of gas and providing additional takeaway capacity from the Marcellus (OGJ Online, Nov. 1, 2013).

Capacity bids were for volumes well in excess of the capacity offered and TGP will be evaluating further capacity expansions.
