Bharat lets contract for FCC units

Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd., Mumbai, has let a contract to Shriram EPC Ltd., Chennai, for services related to an integrated refinery expansion project at its Kochi refinery at Ambalmugal in the Indian state of Kerala.

Under the contract, Shriram will undertake civil, structural, and underground piping work for fluid catalytic cracking units, the company said.

The project is to be completed over a period of 15 months, with the project cost at about 157 crore, according to Shriram.

Bharat has said the refinery expansion will increase oil capacity at the refinery to 15.5 million tonnes/year from 9.5 million tpy (OGJ Online, July 16, 2012).
