Ward Petroleum names exploration vice-president

Enid, Okla.-based independent Ward Petroleum has named David J. Stone as vice-president of exploration.

Stone previously served as North America exploration director for Marathon Oil Co., overseeing the company’s ventures into the Bakken and Woodford shale plays along with several other conventional and resource plays in North America. He began his career with Phillips Petroleum in 1980.
