Enterprise Products Partners LP (EPP) is expanding its wholly owned Aegis purity ethane pipeline to 20-in. OD and up to 425,000 b/d. The 270-mile Aegis pipeline will start at EPP’s Mont Belvieu, Tex., liquids storage complex and, through connections to other EPP-owned pipelines, deliver to ethylene production plants between Beaumont, Tex., and Napoleonville, La. Aegis will begin service in phases, with initial deliveries expected second-quarter 2014.

EPP said that the combination of Aegis and its South Texas ethane pipeline will allow it to reliably ship the product from Mont Beliveu to Gulf Coast ethylene production sites between Corpus Christi and the Mississippi River. The company has 100-million bbl of salt dome NGL storage at Mont Belvieu.

EPP is holding a supplemental open season to accommodate still more shipper interest for Aegis. The company said service is being offered under substantially similar terms and conditions to the agreements already concluded. The open season will close Nov. 14.

EPP announced earlier this month plans to build a 6-6.5 million bbl/month LPG export terminal at a yet-to-be-determined site on the US Gulf Coast, supported by long-term contracts with more than 25 international customers extending as far as 2024 (OGJ Online, Oct. 2, 2013).
