Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. LP let engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for the main plants of the petrochemical complex in plans in Texas after receiving board approval for the project (OGJ Online, Aug. 14, 2013).
It let an EPC contract to a joint venture of JGC (USA) Inc. and Fluor Enterprises Inc. for a 1.5 million tonne/year ethane cracker at Cedar Bayou in Baytown. And it let an EPC contract to Gulf Coast Partners, a combine of Technip USA Inc. and Zachry Industrial Inc. for two polyethylene plants with capacities of 500,000 tonnes/year each at Old Ocean, near its Sweeny complex.
