Lee Krystinik has assumed the role of president of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Tulsa.
Krystinik will serve a 1-year term and lead AAPG’s executive committee, which acts as the association’s board of directors. The executive committee maintains general executive control and management of the affairs and funds of AAPG, with sole responsibility and authority for all internal and external matters.
Krystinik is the principal and founder of Fossil Creek Resources, Arlington, Tex. He has held positions with the US Geological Survey, Reservoirs Inc., Union Pacific Resources, Krystinik Litho-logic, and finally ConocoPhillips before founding Fossil Creek Resources in 2006. He has a PhD in geology from Princeton University.
Randi Martinsen, a senior lecturer-petroleum geology at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, was voted president-elect. Martinsen will serve as AAPG president in 2014-15.
