Idemitsu Norge acquires H-Nord interest

Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS has acquired ExxonMobil E&P Norway’s 25% interests in two production licenses in the North Sea offshore Norway, including one on which H-Nord oil field is under development (OGJ Online, Oct. 13, 2012).

The areas are PL 090 F and PL 090 G. H-Nord, a 2007 discovery operated by Statoil, straddles the G license border with PL 248 in 360 m of water. Production is to begin in second-half 2014 via a subsea completion tied back to the Troll C platform through subsea facilities on Fram oil field 5 km to the south.

The acquisition raises Idemitsu Norge’s interests in PL 090 F and G to 40%. Statoil holds 45%, and GDF Suez E&P Norge holds 15%.

Development is to involve a two-branch multilateral well with gas lift, produced by pressure depletion, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

Production will be from Late Jurassic Heather sandstone at about 2,950 m.
