Vietnam: Origin group spuds Phu Khanh basin wildcat

A group led by a subsidiary of Origin Energy Ltd., Sydney, has spudded the 121-Ca Vol-1X wildcat on Block 121 in the Phu Khanh basin offshore central Vietnam.

Plan is for the Ocean General semisubmersible to drill to a total depth of 3,771 m, after which the well will be plugged.

Block interests are Origin Energy (Song Hong) Pte. Ltd. 45%, Premier Oil Vietnam 121 Ltd. 40%, and Pan Pacific Petroleum Vietnam (121) Pty. Ltd. 15%.
