Statoil plans to develop Oseberg satellite

Norway’s Statoil and partners plan to develop Delta 2 oil and gas field in the North Sea offshore Norway with two seabed templates connected by pipeline to nearby Oseberg field (OGJ Online, Aug. 28, 2012).

Part of the company’s fast-track development program, the field holds reserves estimated at 77 million boe—38% oil. Statoil expects production to peak at 18,000 boe/d and to last 20 years. Water depth is about 100 m.

Statoil, which submitted Delta 2 development plans to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, is operator with 49.3% interest. Other interests are Petoro 33.6%, Total 14.7%, and ConocoPhillips 2.4%.
