Norway: Lundin spuds North Sea Carlsberg prospect

Lundin Petroleum AB, Stockholm, has spudded the 7/4-3 exploratory well on PL495 in the North Sea offshore Norway.

The well target hydrocarbons in Upper Triassic and Upper Cretaceous reservoirs on the Carlsberg prospect 24 km north of Lundin Petroleum-operated Brynhild field off Norway and 22 km east of the UK Everest field.

The Maersk Guardian jack up is to drill the well to 3,092 m below mean sea level in about 65 days.

Lundin Petroleum’s Lundin Norway unit is operator of PL495 with 60% working interest, and Tullow Oil Norge AS has 40%.
