Gazprom to start up two fields offshore Russia

By OGJ editors

Gazprom plans to start production from two oil and gas fields offshore Russia this year: Prirazlomnoye in the Pichora Sea and Kirinskoye in the Sea of Okhotsk.

At Prirazlomnoye oil field, a 1989 discovery, the state-owned company has installed an ice-resistant stationary platform that it calls the first of its kind designed and built in Russia. Built by Sevmash Production Association and installed in 19-20 m of water, the platform will accommodate drilling of 40 directional wells and handle production, storage, and offloading.

Gazprom estimates Prirazlomnoye reserves at 72 million tonnes and production capability at 6.6 tonnes/year.

Kirinskoye gas and condensate field, part of the Sakhalin-3 project, will produce through wells completed subsea in 90 m of water into a pipeline carrying fluids about 28 km to processing facilities onshore (OGJ Online, Aug. 26, 2012).

Kirinskoye reserves, according to Gazprom, are 137 billion cu m of natural gas and 15.9 million tonnes of condensate.

Gazprom said it is preparing documents for development of Shtokmanovskoye gas and condensate field in the Barents Sea, which it placed on indefinite hold last year, and of Severo-Kamennomysskoye in Ob Bay and Kamennomysskoye-Sea field in Taz Bay (OGJ Online, Aug. 30, 2012).
