Gulfport sees high liquids yields at Ohio Utica shale wells

Gulfport Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, reported production test results on two operated Utica shale wells in eastern Ohio.

The Clay 1-4H in Harrison County tested at an average sustained 12-hr rate of 747 b/d of condensate, 5.9 MMcfd of gas, and 761 b/d of natural gas liquids assuming full ethane recovery and a natural gas shrink of 27%, or a combined 2,226 b/d of oil equivalent.

Gulfport’s Stutzman 1-14H in Belmont County tested at an average sustained 4-hr rate of 21 MMcfd of gas and 945 b/d of NGL assuming full ethane recovery and a natural gas shrink of 11%, or 4,060 boe/d.

Gulfport tested the Clay 1-4H well, with a 7,372-ft horizontal lateral at 7,806 ft true vertical depth, following a 75-day resting period. Based on composition analysis, the gas being produced is 1,258-Btu rich gas.

Assuming full ethane recovery, the composition is expected to produce additional NGL at 129 bbl/MMcf. In ethane rejection mode, the composition is expected to yield NGL at 55 bbl/MMcf and result in a natural gas shrink of 14%. Sales are to start in early April.

The Stutzman 1-14H has an 8,634-ft horizontal lateral at 9,020 ft TVD. Following a 12-day resting period, it tested at an average sustained 4-hr rate of 21 MMCFd of gas. Based on composition analysis, the gas being produced is 1,078-Btu gas.

Assuming full ethane recovery, the composition is expected to produce additional NGL at 45 bbl/MMcf and result in a natural gas shrink of 11%. In ethane rejection mode, the composition is expected to yield NGL at 12 bbl/MMcf and result in a natural gas shrink of 9%. Sales are to start in early June.
