GDF Suez lets contract for Juliet

GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd., London, has awarded an engineering, procurement, installation, and construction contract to Technip for the Juliet project, a tie-back to the Pickerill A platform.

GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd., London, has awarded an engineering, procurement, installation, and construction contract to Technip for the Juliet project, a tie-back to the Pickerill A platform.

The contract includes installation of a 12-in. rigid flowline along with static controls umbilical and a 100-ton manifold.

Technip plans to use Apache II and Normand Pioneer vessels to complete the project in 65-195 ft of water.

The Juliet and Cygnus projects (OGJ Online, Aug. 13, 2012) are two major projects under development by GDF SUEZ. GDF SUEZ sanctioned the Juliet project in June 2012 and operates it in partnership with First Oil Expro Ltd. and Hansa Hydrocarbons Ltd.

The project includes two horizontal subsea wells with 14-mile tie-backs to the Pickerill A platform, operated by Perenco UK Ltd.

GDF SUEZ estimates gross proved and probable reserves of 2 billion cu m. Gas production is expected in late 2013. The company plans to transport Juliet gas to the Theddlethorpe terminal on the Lincolnshire coast.
