    The prime contractor for an upgrade of the 180,000-b/d Petroleos de Venezuela SA refinery at Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela, has let a contract for construction of key modularized units to Wison Offshore & Marine Ltd. (OGJ Online, July 29, 2011).
  • 05/09/2013 -- Crosstex to invest in Utica shale compression, condensate stabilization
    Dallas-based Crosstex Energy companies Crosstex Energy LP and Crosstex Energy Inc. have announced that Crosstex Energy Inc. will invest about $25 million in a third natural gas compression and condensate stabilization plant in the Ohio River Valley.
  • 05/02/2013 -- Dow lets contract for Oyster Creek complex expansion, upgrade
    Dow Chemical Co. let an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to Fluor Corp. for a propane dehydrogenation unit, an ethane cracker, and associated power, utilities, and infrastructure upgrades at its Oyster Creek complex in Freeport, Tex.
  • 05/01/2013 -- Enbridge to build East Texas cryo plant
    Enbridge Energy Partners LP, Houston, will build a 150-MMcfd cryogenic natural gas processing plant near Beckville in Panola County, Tex., the company has announced, estimating the cost of the project at $140 million.
  • 04/24/2013 -- Crosstex awards fractionator contracts for La. expansions
    Crosstex Processing Services LLC, a unit of Crosstex Energy LP, Dallas, has awarded a contract to UOP LLC, Des Plaines, Ill., for technology and equipment to extract petrochemical feedstocks from NGLs derived from shale gas.
  • 04/16/2013 -- Williams Partners, Shell form midstream JV
    Williams Partners LP, Tulsa, and Royal Dutch Shell PLC have joined to form Three Rivers Midstream, a company to provide gas gathering and gas processing for production in northwest Pennsylvania. The venture will invest in both wet-gas handling infrastructure and dry-gas infrastructure serving Marcellus and Utica shale wells.
  • 04/12/2013 -- Pakistan to build refinery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
    Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of the northwest province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to build a 40,000-b/d refinery on about 400 acres in Kohat district of K-P, the state-owned company reported.
  • 04/11/2013 -- Yasref awards Yanbu refinery, petchem contract
    Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Co. Ltd. (Yasref) has awarded a 2-year engineering services to SNC-Lavilin Fayez Engineering for the refinery and petrochemical plant under construction at Yanbu on the Red Sea. The company is a Saudi Arabia-registered subsidiary of SNC-Lavilin, Montreal.

    TexStar Midstream Services LP, San Antonio, will install two fractionation units in Corpus Christi, Tex., adjacent LyondellBasell’s Equistar Chemicals LP olefins plant.
  • 04/03/2013 -- Sinopec, PetroSA in Mthombo refinery accord
    China Petrochemical Corp. (Sinopec) said it has reached a cooperation framework agreement with Petroleum Oil & Gas Corp. of South Africa (PetroSA) “which enabled the companies to move forward the world-scale Mthombo crude oil refinery project in Port Elizabeth’s Coega Industrial Development Zone.”
