  • 08/16/2013 -- Louisiana: Port Hudson field interest changes hands
    West Texas Resources Inc., Frisco, Tex., has acquired a 7.24625% working interest in the oil and gas leases, wells, and attendant production in Port Hudson field, Baton Rouge Parish, La., from an undisclosed seller for $702,900.
  • 08/12/2013 -- Llanos foothills Mirador well tests at 5,218 b/d rate
    Petrominerales Corp., Calgary, said its Taya-1 well on Corcel Block 31 in the Llanos foothills of Colombia production-tested at the rate of 5,218 b/d of 23.2° gravity oil upon recompletion in the Mirador formation.

    Gazprom Neft has approved the continued study of shale oil reserves at the Bazheno-Abalaksky complex of the Palyanovskaya zone at Krasnoleninskoye field, which is being developed in Russia by Gazpromneft-Khantos.

    Sanchez Energy Corp., Houston, said it will become a 50-50 partner with an affiliate with acquisition of 40,000 net undeveloped acres in the emerging Tuscaloosa marine shale (TMS) oil and gas play centered in southern Mississippi.

  • 08/07/2013 -- Oryx details Demir Dagh development in Iraq Kurdistan
    Oryx Petroleum Corp., Calgary, has laid out its plans to explore and develop the Demir Dagh license in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, where it targets 7,000-9,000 b/d of oil production to start in the second quarter of 2014.

    Alaska’s Department of Natural Resources extended oil and gas leases for the first time on Aug. 1 under authority the state’s legislature gave it earlier this year.
  • 08/05/2013 -- Suriname: Tullow takes Inpex Block 31 farmout
    A unit of Tullow Oil PLC will take a 30% participating interest in Block 31 on the shelf offshore Suriname from Inpex Corp.'s Teikoku Oil (Suriname) Co. Ltd., subject to approval by Staatsolie.
