    The American Petroleum Institute said it would like the administration of US President Barack Obama to gather information more quickly so it will be able to consider expanded oil and gas leasing on more of the US Outer Continental Shelf when it develops the next 5-year management program.
  • 10/22/2013 -- New Brunswick: Corridor locks in high gas sales netbacks
    Corridor Resources Inc., Halifax, NS, operator of McCully gas field in New Brunswick, said it has entered into a forward sale agreement from Nov. 1, 2013, to Mar. 31, 2014, for an average of 3,000 MMbtu/day equating to 2.8 MMscfd of gas at an average of $9.03/MMbtu (US) and an estimated netback of $6.50/Mscf (Can.).
  • 10/21/2013 -- Repsol groups adds Libya Murzuk light oil find
    A group led by Repsol has added a light oil discovery on the 4,400 sq km NC 115 block in the Murzuk basin in the Sahara 800 km south of Tripoli, Libya.
  • 10/17/2013 -- Gazprom Neft claims seismic sensor mark in Iraq
    Gazprom Neft of Russia has claimed a record for transmitting wireless seismic data from more than 6,200 sensors in mountainous terrain on its operated Shakal block in the southern part of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
  • 10/16/2013 -- Nigeria: Oyo-7 well encounters Pliocene oil, gas
    Allied Energy PLC and Camac Energy Inc., Houston, are drilling the Oyo-7 well on OML 120 offshore Nigeria toward its Miocene secondary objective after having encountered oil and gas in the currently producing Pliocene reservoir.
  • 10/15/2013 -- Oklahoma/Texas: Anadarko basin multiclient 3D survey set
    TGS-Nopec Geophysical Co. will shoot a 3D multiclient seismic survey covering 161.5 sq miles in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, and Hemphill County, Tex., in the Anadarko basin in late 2013.
  • 10/14/2013 -- Tawke horizontal oil well tests 32,500 b/d in Iraq
    DNO International ASA, Oslo, has tested oil at a record rate of 32,500 b/d from its second horizontal well in Tawke field, Tawke-23, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, eclipsing the previous record rate of 25,000 b/d at the company’s first horizontal well, Tawke-20, 6 km distant.
  • 10/11/2013 -- Trinidad: Parex farms out Moruga, drops Central Range blocks
    Parex Resources Inc., Calgary, has farmed out its Moruga block in Trinidad and Tobago and has given notice that it will relinquish its Central Range blocks and recognize a $40 million impairment.
  • 10/08/2013 -- Arizona: State places oil and gas well data online
    The Arizona Geological Survey purchased software in 2011 with funding from the Rocky Mountain Carbon Capture and Sequestration Partnership to digitize Arizona well logs into LAS (log ASCII standard) format to aid analysis for carbon dioxide sequestration potential in Arizona.
  • 10/07/2013 -- Indian cabinet committee okays stake in offshore Mozambique
    India’s cabinet committee on economic affairs has approved the proposal of the ministry of petroleum and natural gas to authorize ONGC Videsh Ltd. and Oil India Ltd. to acquire interest in the Rovuma Area 1 block offshore Mozambique.
