  • 08/02/2013 -- AER: Primrose release totals 6,670 bbl
    The amount of bitumen released to surface from four locations at Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.’s Primrose South and East thermal projects totaled 6,670 bbl as of Aug. 2, Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) reported (OGJ Online, July 18, 2013).
  • 08/02/2013 -- Ultra taps gas, condensate in Wyoming, Pennsylvania
    Ultra Petroleum Corp., Houston, said it produced 56.6 bcf of natural gas and 299,100 bbl of condensate in Wyoming and Pennsylvania in the quarter ended June 30.

    Carbon dioxide injection began June 6 into giant Burbank field in Osage County, Okla., in a 30-year project the operator expects to recover 88 million bbl of oil.

    According to Barclay’s Drilling Permit Monthly July 2013, onshore drilling permits for the US 30 states that Barclays monitors increased 4% in June, following a 2.7% increase in May and a 7.9% decrease in April.
  • 07/15/2013 -- Dart Energy sells China CBM project interest
    A subsidiary of China Oil HBP Science & Technology Corp. Ltd. will buy the Chinese unit of Dart Energy Ltd., Brisbane, that holds a 50% interest in the Liulin coalbed methane production sharing contract in China for $20.8 million.

    The US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement reported that it continues to oversee efforts by Energy Resource Technology Gulf of Mexico LLC (ERT) to stop the flow of natural gas from a well at Ship Shoal Block 225 Platform B about 74 miles southwest of Port Fourchon, La.

    Shell Canada Energy, operator of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP) joint venture, has received conditional Alberta Energy Regulator approval for expansion of its Jackpine oil sands mine about 70 km north of Fort McMurray, Alta.
