Johnson named Connacher chief operating officer

Merle Johnson has been named chief operating officer of Connacher Oil & Gas Ltd., Calgary. He has been with company since 2007.

Peter Sametz, who has been interim chief executive officer since February, has advised Connacher that he will not extend his consulting contract beyond Dec. 31 (OGJ Online, Feb. 22, 2012).

Connacher recently sold properties not related to two in situ oil sands projects it is developing in the Great Divide area of Alberta (OGJ Online, Nov. 16, 2012).
