Oil & Gas UK has published several documents to help operators plan for decommissioning of production platforms and other installations offshore the UK.

The trade group representing offshore oil and gas producers said it estimates companies’ decommissioning plans to be worth £4.5 billion in the next 5 years.

One of the documents, “Decommissioning Insights 2012,” presents those plans by types of services or goods required.

Another document, “The Decommissioning of Steel Piled Jackets (SPJs) in the North Sea,” reports experience from 39 decommissioning projects conducted to date.

A third document contains databases of structures and subsea systems remaining to be decommissioned offshore the UK.

The documents are available on the Oil & Gas UK web site at www.oilandgasuk.co.uk.
