Eustream joins Central European Gas Hub

Eustream AS, Bratislava, Slovakia, has acquired a 15% interest in the Central European Gas Hub (CEGH), which will be operator of the virtual trading point for natural gas starting up in Austria at the beginning of next year.

Eustream AS, Bratislava, Slovakia, has acquired a 15% interest in the Central European Gas Hub (CEGH), which will be operator of the virtual trading point for natural gas starting up in Austria at the beginning of next year.

Eustream operates a natural gas transmission system with total length of 2,270 km and capacity of more than 90 billion cu m/year.

CEGH, a subsidiary of OMV Gas & Power, has 147 members and had a trading volume last year of nearly 40 billion cu m.

After the transaction, OMV will hold 65% of CEGH, and the Vienna Stock Exchange will hold 20%.

The virtual trading point will offer intraday trading and regional balancing services.
