Second Bacchus well producing 8,500 b/d

A second horizontal well in Bacchus oil field in the UK North Sea is producing 8,500 b/d of oil, pushing field output to 12,900 b/d, reports Apache Corp.

The well, Bacchus West, logged 889 ft MD of net pay in three sections of the Jurassic Fulmar sandstone.

The first well, Bacchus South, began production in May at 6,000 b/d and currently produces 4,400 b/d.

The wells are completed subsea in 89 m of water and tied back to Apache’s Forties Alpha platform, 4 miles southwest.

Apache is operator with a 50% interest. Partners are Endeavor Energy UK Ltd. 30% and First Oil Expro Ltd. 20%.
