Marathon Oil Norge AS has let an engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning contract worth more than €300 million to Technip for work related to development of Boyla oil field in the North Sea offshore Norway (OGJ Online, June 4, 2012).
Boyla is a subsea development in 120 m of water linked to the Alvheim subsea oil development feeding a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel 28 km to the north.
Technip’s contract covers:
● Fabrication and reeled installation of a pipe-in-pipe production flowline, a plastic lined water injection flowline, and a gas-lift flowline.
● Fabricatiion and installation of rigid spools.
● Manufacture and installation of flexible jumpers and umbilicals.
● Tie-in by divers, trenching, rock-dumping, and ready-for-operations activities.
Boyla interests are Marathon, operator, 65%, ConocoPhillips Skandinavia 20%, and Lundin Norway AS 15%.
