Oil & Natural Gas Corp. reported four discoveries in and offshore India:
• In the Assam and Assam Arakan basin, the Phulani-1 exploration well tested 76.8 cu m/day of 29.1º gravity oil on a 6-mm choke from an interval at 2,596-2,598.5 ft in the Eocene Sylhet formation. The well, drilled to 2,730 m, is 20 km southeast of Golaghat in Assam.
• The exploratory well Koravaka-1 in the onshore Krishna-Godavari basin flowed oil on test at the rate of 15 cu m/day and gas at 39,408 cu m/day through a 6-mm choke from a Middle Eocene Vadaparu interval at 3,720.5-3,724.5 m. It went to 3,886 m 20 km south of Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh.
• A new-pool discovery, North Kovilkalappal-3 in the onshore Cauvery basin, tested 80 cu m/day of oil and 10,000 cu m/day of gas through a 6-mm choke from an Early Cretaceous Andimadam interval at 2,135-2,145 m. The well bottomed at 2,671 m 20 km southeast of Manargudi, Tamil Nadu.
• Another new-pool discovery, C-39-14 in the Western Offshore basin, produced on test at rates of 294 b/d of oil and 94,900 cu m/day of gas from three intervals between 1,190 m and 1,917 m in the Lower Oligocene Mahuva formation. The well was drilled to 2,138 m.
