Llanos deep test flows 2,525 b/d from Mirador

By OGJ editors

Cia. Espanola de Petroleos SAU and Gran Tierra Energy Inc., Calgary, have tested oil from Mirador at a restricted rate of 2,525 b/d at the Ramiriqui-1 discovery well in the Llanos basin in Colombia.

The companies are evaluating options for testing more reservoir intervals, drilling an appraisal well, and implementing an early production program.

Ramiriqui-1 went to a total depth of 19,519 ft measured depth on the Llanos-22 block in the Andean foothills trend. The companies have collected reservoir data and fluid samples from the Mirador formation.

The formation has 130 ft gross thickness and was perforated and tested at 17,610-630 ft MD in the uppermost primary reservoir interval. The interval flowed as much as 2,525 b/d of 26° gravity oil, natural, in 32.5 hr on a 28/64 inch choke and a 0.12% water cut. The rate was restricted due to gas flaring limits.

CEPSA is operator of the Llanos-22 block with 55% working interest, and Gran Tierra has 45% subject to Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos approval.

Gran Tierra said Ramiriqui is the first of four exploratory wells planned for 2012 in Colombia, two each in the Llanos and Putumayo basins. The company also plans one exploratory well in Peru, two in Brazil, and three in Argentina.
