• 02/22/2012 -- Connacher delays oil sands expansion, names CEO
  Connacher Oil & Gas Ltd., Calgary, which last month disclosed a strategic review following key management changes, has delayed the planned expansion of its Alberta oil sands production project and named an interim chief executive officer (OGJ Online, Jan. 20, 2012).
• 02/23/2012 -- Osum seeks Taiga construction approval
  Osum Oil Sands Corp. has applied to Alberta’s Energy Resources Conservation Board for approval to build and operate its Taiga oil sands production project near Bonnyville in the Cold Lake region.
• 02/24/2012 -- Total starts oil field offshore Nigeria
  Total said production has started from Usan oil field 100 km offshore southeastern Nigeria (OGJ Online, Dec. 9, 2009).
• 02/27/2012 -- Gulf of Mexico: ATP making oil at fourth Telemark well
  ATP Oil & Gas Corp., Houston, started production from the fourth well at its Telemark Hub in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana.
• 02/28/2012 -- Statoil lets contract to upgrade Snorre A
  Statoil has let a contract to Aker Solutions for the upgrade of drilling facilities on its Snorre A platform in the Tampen area of the North Sea offshore Norway.
• 02/28/2012 -- Oil & Gas UK survey sees small offshore production bounce
  While oil and gas production from the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) will recover slightly from its big slump of 2011 this year, the outlook remains darkened by resource maturity and last year’s surprise tax hike, according to an annual survey of operating companies.
• 02/29/2012 -- Grizzly reports May River resource estimate
  Grizzly Oil Sands ULC said an independent analysis has identified 1.8 billion bbl of exploitable bitumen in place at the May River oil sands property in northern Alberta it has acquired from Petrobank Energy & Resources Ltd. Both companies are based in Calgary (OGJ Online, Feb. 1, 2012).
• 02/29/2012 -- Louisiana: Smackover Brown dense drilling progresses
  Southwestern Energy Co., Houston, is drilling its third well in the Jurassic Lower Smackover Brown dense play in southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana, in which it has acquired 520,619 net acres.
• 03/01/2012 -- New Brunswick: Contact to add wells at Stoney Creek
  Contact Exploration Inc., Calgary, submitted to the New Brunswick government an environmental impact assessment for Stoney Creek oil and gas field in New Brunswick.  
• 03/02/2012 -- First Gulf of Mexico FPSO receiving Cascade oil
  Oil production began Feb. 25 from Cascade deepwater field into the Gulf of Mexico’s first floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, said operator Petrobras America Inc.
