  ExxonMobil Upstream Research Co. has issued a global license for proprietary oil-well sand-control technology to Weatherford International Ltd.
• 02/07/2012 -- Total starts second Ofon development phase
  A unit of Total SA is installing four platforms on Ofon oil field offshore Nigeria in a second phase of development that will triple production to 90,000 boe/d (OGJ Online, July 24, 2007).
• 02/07/2012 -- Athabasca presses Montney, Nordegg light oil work
  Athabasca Oil Sands Corp., Calgary, reported completion of Montney and Nordegg multistage fractured horizontal wells at Kaybob in the Deep Basin of Alberta.
• 02/07/2012 -- Seadrill announces contracts for three jack up rigs
  Seadrill Ltd. announced contracts for the three jack up rigs: Offshore Mischief, Offshore Defender, and West Leda. The three contracts have an aggregated revenue potential of $311 million including mobilization fees and assignment-specific rig modifications.
• 02/10/2012 -- Cobalt tests Brazil-like presalt oil find off Angola
  Oil of 44° gravity flowed at an unstimulated, sustained rate of 5,010 b/d with 14.3 MMcfd of associated gas with limited drawdown at the Cameia presalt oil discovery in Block 21 offshore Angola, said Cobalt International Energy Inc., Houston.

  Red Mountain Resources Inc., Dallas, said it initiated oil production from the Delaware Brushy Canyon reservoir at its Madera 24-2H horizontal well in Lea County, NM.
• 02/10/2012 -- US drilling rig count falls 8 units
  US oil and gas drilling activity this week fell by 8 units to 1,989 total rigs working. The rig count for the week ended Feb. 10 was up by 268 rigs from the comparable period a year ago, Baker Hughes Inc. reported.
• 02/13/2012 -- Indonesia: Kerendan gas drilling, deep tests near
  Salamander Bangkanai Energy, operator of the 4,534 sq km Bangkanai PSC on East Kalimantan, Indonesia, plans to drill four development wells in Kerendan gas field starting in late February 2012 followed by an exploratory deep test.
