Eagle Rock to install cryogenic plant in Granite Wash

Eagle Rock Energy Partners LP, Houston, will install a recently acquired 60-MMcfd cryogenic processing plant in Hemphill County, Tex., in the Granite Wash play of the Texas Panhandle.

The company expects installation of the Woodall plant and construction of associated infrastructure to be completed in first-quarter 2012.

The plant will be on 40-acres owned by Eagle Rock in its existing high-pressure gathering system near multiple residue-gas pipeline outlets, said the company. In addition, Eagle Rock will build a new 6-in. NGL pipeline, a compressor station, and other intra-system pipeline enhancements to facilitate product gathering, transportation, and marketing. Supporting infrastructure is being designed to accommodate one or more additional expansions, said the announcement.

"The Woodall plant,” said Joseph A. Mills, chairman and chief executive officer, "is complementary to our previously announced Phoenix—Arrington Ranch plant expansion,” scheduled to be completed in the fall. With completion of the Woodall plant, Eagle Rock will have about 195 MMcfd of high-efficiency cryogenic processing capacity in the area, he said.

Construction of the Woodall plant and associated gathering and compression will cost about $67 million.
