Eagle Rock to install cryogenic plant in Granite Wash

By OGJ editors

Eagle Rock Energy Partners LP, Houston, will install a recently acquired 60-MMcfd cryogenic processing plant in Hemphill County, Tex., in the Granite Wash play of the Texas Panhandle.

The company expects installation of the Woodall plant and construction of associated infrastructure to be completed in first-quarter 2012.

The plant will be on 40-acres owned by Eagle Rock in its existing high-pressure gathering system near multiple residue-gas pipeline outlets, said the company. In addition, Eagle Rock will build a new 6-in. NGL pipeline, a compressor station, and other intra-system pipeline enhancements to facilitate product gathering, transportation, and marketing. Supporting infrastructure is being designed to accommodate one or more additional expansions, said the announcement.

"The Woodall plant,” said Joseph A. Mills, chairman and chief executive officer, "is complementary to our previously announced Phoenix—Arrington Ranch plant expansion,” scheduled to be completed in the fall. With completion of the Woodall plant, Eagle Rock will have about 195 MMcfd of high-efficiency cryogenic processing capacity in the area, he said.

Construction of the Woodall plant and associated gathering and compression will cost about $67 million.

The Future of US Refining

When Fri, Feb 6, 2015

Oil & Gas Journal’s Feb. 6, 2015, webcast will focus on the future of US refining as various forces this year conspire to pull the industry in different directions. Lower oil prices generally reduce feedstock costs, but they have also lowered refiners’ returns, as 2015 begins with refined products priced at lows not seen in years. If lower per-barrel crude prices dampen production of lighter crudes among shale plays, what will happen to refiners’ plans to export more barrels of lighter crudes? And as always, refiners will be affected by government regulations, particularly those that suppress demand, increase costs, or limit access to markets or supply.
