HOUSTON, July 25
-- Gravis Oil Corporation, Calgary, formerly MegaWest Energy Corp., in early May 2011 began steaming a new well pattern drilled in April at its 320-acre Grassy Creek heavy oil project in Vernon County, western Missouri.

The pattern consists of an injection well, two observation wells, and six producing wells on one-third acre.

Without giving figures, the company said it has measured a large increase in reservoir temperature and encouraging early-stage production response at the new pattern since steaming began. The company estimated that it may take until late August 2011 to fully assess the results of the new development pattern.
