HOUSTON, July 21
-- A unit of Endeavour International Corp. let a $15 million contract to Aker Solutions for the supply of subsea umbilicals and associated equipment for the East Rochelle gas-condensate development project on Block 15/27 in the Central North Sea.

Previously in June, Endeavour let a €70 million contract to Technip for the East Rochelle project.

East Rochelle is the first phase of the Rochelle area development.

The field is about 185 km northeast of Aberdeen in 140 m of water. Endeavour plans to develop the field initially with one subsea completed well and a second well as a future contingency tied back to the Hess operated Scott platform.

Endeavour estimates that the field will produce up to 8,000-9,000 boe/d. In a recent presentation, the company noted that a 2009 drill stem test in the 15/27-11 appraisal well flowed 41 MMcfd and 2,300 b/d of condensate from the upper 20-ft gas leg of a 77-ft column.

Aker Solutions will supply one 30-km infield control umbilical and one 650-m riser umbilical. It will manage the engineering of the umbilicals from its Oslo facility and manufacture them at its facility in Moss, Norway.

Technip expects the offshore installation to be completed during second-half 2012. The contract with Technip covers full project management and detailed design, fabrication, installation, and precommissioning of a 30 km pipe-in-pipe, flexible riser, free issue umbilical, subsea isolation valves, and manifolds. It also covers tie-in spools, trenching, backfill, and rock dumping work.

Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen will execute this contract. Technip will weld the pipe-in-pipe at its spoolbase in Evanton, Scotland and manufacture the flexible riser at its plant in Le Trait, France.

Operator Endeavour Energy UK holds a 56% interest in East Rochelle. Nexen Inc. holds the remaining interest.
