HOUSTON, June 27
– Oil Search Ltd. said it is targeting a development decision in the fourth quarter of 2011 for its Mananda discovery in Papua New Guinea 18 km northwest of Southeast Mananda oil field.

The Mananda-5 discovery well in PPL 219 would be connected to Southeast Mananda with an 18-km flowline.

The Cretaceous Toro A zone was tested for 6-1/2 days earlier this year and flowed at rates of 1,000-1,200 b/d of oil with a gas-oil ratio of 900 scf/stb through 20/64-in. and 24/64-in. chokes. Data from this extended flow test plus information from the other three Toro zones that flowed oil were to be analyzed to assist with appraisal and development planning.

Interests in the block are Oil Search 71.25% and JX Nippon 28.75%.
