HOUSTON, June 2 – Vanoil Energy Ltd., Vancouver, BC, let a $3.5 million contract to Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting for 373 line-km of 320-fold 2D seismic on Kenya Block 3B.
The objective is to delineate more leads and to upgrade three known leads to possible drillable targets. The survey is to be complete by the end of September. Interpreted data from Vanoil’s 2010 program is expected within weeks. Vanoil plans to shoot further 3D seismic in the third quarter of 2011.
Vanoil holds 100% interest in blocks 3A and 3B that total 24,682 sq km in the Cretaceous Central African Rift Basin System.
