HOUSTON, June 21
– Dejour Energy Inc., Denver, has cased its initial vertical Mancos/Niobrara exploratory well in western Colorado and plans to attempt completion this year.

The well encountered 90 ft of hydrocarbon-bearing siltstone in Lower Mancos C sands enroute to a total depth of 3,863 ft on the company’s South Rangely leasehold in Rio Blanco County, Colo. Test results will be forthcoming in the third quarter of 2011.

Dejour has a 30% working interest in the well and an average 56% working interest in the surrounding 8,000 acres. This leasehold sits on the western flank of the Douglas Creek arch that separates the Piceance and Uintah basins (OGJ Online, Apr. 26, 2011).
