HOUSTON, May 9
-- JKX Oil & Gas PLC said its production averaged 36.6 MMcfd of gas and 2,156 b/d of oil and condensate in Ukraine in the quarter Mar. 31, 2011, down 22% from the same period of 2010.

Since the quarter’s end, production has grown with development drilling to more than 10,500 boe/d from the first quarter composite of 8,252 boe/d. The main targets are infill wells in Molchanovskoye North field and development drilling in Novo-Nikolaevskoye field.

Well M-169 was completed in March 2011 with a 600-m horizontal leg in the Molchanovskoye North Devonian reservoir. It was designed to replace the M-151 and M-152 wells and has been set higher in the reservoir. Initial test rate was 5.3 MMcfd of gas with 634 b/d of condensate with 594 psi flowing wellhead pressure on a 2-in. choke. Flowline optimization hiked the gas rate to 8.1 MMcfd.

Development well M-171 was drilled and completed in 29 days with a 150-m horizontal section in
Devonian sandstone. In the partly depleted southernmost fault block, it is just entering production after testing at 309 b/d of oil and 1.8 MMcfd of gas at 406 psi flowing wellhead pressure.

The Skytop rig is completing the N-75 well in Novo-Nikolaevskoye field at a TD of 1,894 m in the
Visean reservoir some 260 m west of the surface location. This will be followed by the N-76 well
targeting the same reservoir 670 m east of its surface location. Both wells are being drilled
from the Novo-Nikolaevskoye wellhead cluster close to Sokolova Balka village.

Meanwhile, installation of an LPG plant began in the quarter. Installation of the processing plant is almost complete, and all storage tanks are in place. Loading and measurement equipment are being tied into the existing process plant during the annual plant shutdown in mid-May. Commissioning can then start with first production scheduled for mid-year.

A hot tap from Elizavetovskoye field to the nearby gas trunkline has been successfully installed as
a prerequisite to field development in 2012.
