HOUSTON, May 19
– Credo Petroleum Corp., Denver, has generated a large inventory of prospects from detailed subsurface geology and advanced 3D seismic technology at undisclosed locations in southwestern Nebraska.

The Nebraska play, where Credo has assembled 40,000 net acres, is an extension of a Central Kansas uplift drilling play at which the company has achieved a 40% success rate. Credo has completed two discoveries in Nebraska by reentering abandoned wells on separate prospects.

The two vertical wells were completed in the Pennsylvanian Lansing-Kansas City formation at 4,000 ft and tested at initial rates of 50 b/d and 100 b/d, respectively. Pumping units are being installed. Credo owns a 70% working interest in the wells and believes both have offset potential.

Completion has begun at a third well drilled as an extension to an existing field that has produced 200,000 bbl of oil. The well tested at an initial 200 b/d of oil from Lansing-Kansas City and may be amenable to waterflood. Credo owns a 70% working interest and is the operator.
