HOUSTON, May 23
– PT Elnusa Tbk and CGGVeritas will create a marine joint venture company that will shoot 2D and 3D seismic surveys off Indonesia and elsewhere in Southeast Asia.

The combine, PT Elnusa-CGGVeritas Seismic, is 51% owned by Elnusa and 49% owned by CGGVeritas. Its first vessel, the Elnusa Finder, is the first Indonesian-owned and flagged seismic vessel. Purpose-built in Singapore, it is equipped with four Sercel solid streamers.

The vessel is to conduct its first commercial survey in Indonesia starting in May 2011 near Madura Island in East Java, on behalf of Husky Oil.
