HOUSTON, May 18 -- More Canadian operators are reporting temporary shut ins of their production and suspension of drilling and completion activity as a result of forest fires near Slave Lake in northern Alberta and spring floods in southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Penn West Exploration said it has temporarily shut in 35,000-40,000 boe/d of production because of the fires in Alberta and the spring floods in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
BlackPearl Resources Inc. has temporarily shut in about 700 b/d of oil production at Mooney in northern Alberta because of the fires.
Celtic Exploration Ltd. said has shut in 150 bo/d at Utikuma Lake near Slave Lake because of the fires.
