HOUSTON, May 20
– A 2D seismic survey in the Mesaha frontier exploration concession in southwestern Egypt has greatly improved the definition of the sedimentary basin, said Melrose Resources PLC.

The survey is 65% complete with 1,180 line-km having been acquired to date. The quality of the new seismic data is far superior to that of the regional 2D seismic lines acquired in 2010, the company added.

Preliminary field interpretation is confirming the presence of major structural features including tilted fault block geometries and intrabasinal highs.
