LOS ANGELES, May 26 -- Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) awarded contracts valued at $700 million to two companies to develop parts of its $10 billion Shah gas project, local media reported.
Abu Dhabi’s Al-Bayan newspaper said Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Co. (CCC) confirmed winning a $550 million contract to construct a sulfur granulation plant and some pipelines for the project.
Al-Bayan said the second contract, worth $150 million, was awarded to the UAE-based United Construction and Investment Co. for construction of the secondary buildings for the integrated Shah gas projects.
In January, Occidental Petroleum Corp. announced it was selected by the government of Abu Dhabi to participate in the development of the Shah gas field, one of the largest in the Middle East (OGJ, Jan. 20, 2011).
