UK: Egdon drilling at Keddington oil field

– Egdon Resources PLC, operator with 75% interest in Keddington oil field on PEDL005 in Lincolnshire, UK, is drilling the Keddington-4 horizontal sidetrack from the Keddington-1z well.

Kicking off in early April at 2,080 m, the well was to be drilled to 2,750 m including a lateral as long as 500 m. The sidetrack is to penetrate 200 m of the producing Carboniferous Unit 1 sandstone and to penetrate deeper Namurian sandstones that had gas shows in Keddington-3.

Egdon also plans to drill the contiguous Louth prospect later in 2011.

Partners with Egdon are Terrain Energy Ltd. 15% and Alba Resources Ltd., a subsidiary of Nautical Petroleum PLC, 10%.
