HOUSTON, Apr. 20
– Range Resources Ltd., Perth, plans to acquire the 90% interest it didn’t own in entities that hold three production licenses in producing oil fields in southern onshore Trinidad plus an associated local land drilling rig operation.

The interests to be acquired through SOCA Petroleum total 16,253 acres in Morne Diablo, Beach Marcelle, and South Quarry oil fields, which produce from the Pliocene Forest and Cruse formations. Range hopes to hike production to 4,000 b/d from the present 600 b/d within 36 months excluding exploratory potential.

SOCA has mapped 10 targets in Miocene Herrera deepwater turbidite formation on the licenses.
