– V-F Petroleum Inc., Midland, will operate the Tunis Creek multizone prospect in West Texas near a one-well oil and gas field discovered in 1960.

The University 6-1 well is to go to 7,500 ft on a 1,600-acre lease that comprises two section of Block 20, University Lands survey, 25 miles east of Fort Stockton. Victory Energy Corp., Newport Beach, Calif., through its partnership with Aurora Energy Partners, will participate for a 5% working interest.

The prospect is surrounded by hydrocarbon shows in all three targeted horizons. The prospect has been permitted to test the Wichita, Albany, Wolfcamp, and Ellenburger formations.

The prospect is updip to the Renaud & Tunstill field discovery well two thirds of a mile to the east-northeast. The Midwest Oil 1 University discovery well pumped 248 b/d of 43° gravity oil from Ellenburger at 6,810-95 ft. Log tops included Wolfcamp at 4,834 ft, Simpson at 5,940 ft, Connell at 6,439 ft, and Ellenburger at 6,795 ft.

Production for the 1 University well through 1965 exceeded 20,000 bbl of oil and 1.65 MMcf of casinghead gas, Victory Energy said.
