HOUSTON, Apr. 28
-- Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has started an extended well test in the northeastern part of Lula field to the BW Cidade de Sao Vicente floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, anchored in 2,120 m of water.

The test will produce oil from presalt reservoirs in the Santos basin about 300 km off Brazil at an expected rate of 14,000 bo/d.

Petrobras will use the information gathered during the test to help design the Lula Northeast pilot project to the Cidade de Paraty FPSO.

The field lies on Block BM-S-11.

Petrobras holds a 65% interest in the block. Its partners are BG Group 25% and Portugal's Galp Energia 10%.
