HOUSTON, Mar. 25 -- The Tyrihans complex of fields completed subsea on the Halten Bank off Norway has exceeded initial production estimates, currently flowing about 100,000 b/d.
Tyrihans South, a gas-capped oil field, and Tyrihans North, a gas and condensate field with a thin oil zone, came on stream in July 2009 (OGJ, July 13, 2009, Newsletter).
“Multilateral and smart wells with downhole regulatory equipment have improved the overall control of reservoir production,” said operator Statoil in a statement. “Pumps for seawater injection placed directly on the seabed also help boost recovery.”
The field has a seabed template for water injection and four seabed templates for production and gas injection. The wellstream flows through a 43.6-km pipeline to the Kristin platform for processing. Gas flows from Kristin into the Asgard pipeline to the Karsto facility in Rogaland.
Oil and condensate from Tyrihans flow by pipeline into the Asgard C storage C for tanker loading.
Discovered in 1982-83, the Tyrihans reservoir occurs at about 3,500 m in 270 m of water.
Interests are Statoil 58.84%, Total E&P Norge 23.15%, ExxonMobil E&P Norway 11.79%, and Eni Norge 6.23%.
