HOUSTON, Mar. 30 -- Statoil let a 1 billion kroner letter of intent to Aker Solutions for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a subsea production system for its fast-track Fossekall-Dompap project that will tie back the fields to the Norne floating production, storage, and offloading vessel on Block 6608/10 in the Norwegian Sea.
Fossekall and Dompap are north of Norne in 380 m of water on Blocks 6608/10 and 6608/11. Statoil estimates that the fields will recover 63 million bbl of oil.
Previously Statoil ordered umbilicals for the project from Aker Solutions (OGJ Online Mar. 23, 2011).
The EPC work will include three four-well template manifolds, 11 subsea trees, a control system, and a tie-in system, as well as options for other field developments off Norway.
Statoil expects contract work to start immediately, with final deliveries made in second-quarter 2013.
Aker Solutions will carry out the management, engineering, and procurement of the subsea production system from its Oslo headquarters and fabricate the subsea trees at its Tranby manufacturing center in Norway, template manifolds at its Egersund yard in Norway, and control system in Aberdeen.
Fossekall-Dompap are in PL 128 and operator Statoil holds a 63.95% interest in the license. Partners are Petoro AS 24.55% and Eni Norge AS 11.5%.
Statoil's list of planned fast-track projects off Norway currently includes Visund South (Pan-Pandora), Katla, Vigdis Northeast, Gygrid, Fossekall and Dompap, Vilje South, Visund North, Gamma-Harepus, and Snorre B template.
