AMSTERDAM, Mar. 23
-- Teesside Gas & Liquids Processing has awarded a £32 million engineering, procurement, and construction contract to AMEC for the modification and extension of the Teesside gas processing plant at Seal Sands, Middlesborough, Teesside, UK. Completion is scheduled for April 2012.

The contract forms part of continuing development work to allow the plant to receive natural gas from Breagh field in the southern North Sea on the Dogger Shelf around 100 km east of Teesside. RWE Dea operates Breagh field.

The project will involve construction of an offshore platform and pipeline by RWE and its partner Sterling Resources to bring gas ashore at Coatham Sands, where it will be piped via an onshore pipeline to the Teesside plant for processing. Sales gas will be sent either to the UK’s National Transmission System or to local industrial users.
