– Belmont Lake field, in the Mississippi River flood plain in Wilkinson County, Miss., is averaging a combined 130 b/d of oil from Oligocene Frio in three wells and as many as four development wells are to be drilled in 2011, said Cheetah Oil & Gas Ltd., Vancouver, BC.

Griffin & Griffin Exploration LLC, Jackson, Miss., which operates the field, said the No. 12, 12-3, and 12-4 wells are producing on gas lift. The 12-5 well, which tested 90 bbl of light oil in 36 hr, is to be tied in soon (OGJ Online, Sept. 18, 2009).

The companies will install a knockout that will remove free water from the production system before it reaches the heater treater to keep from wasting heat on the water.
