HOUSTON, Mar. 23
-- ConocoPhillips let a 1.3 billion kroner contract to Aker Solutions for modifying the existing Eldfisk 2/7 A, Eldfisk 2/7 FTP, Eldfisk 2/7 B, and Embla platforms, as a consequence of the planned installation in 2014 of the new Eldfisk 2/7 S platform.

Aker Solutions expects to start the work immediately and complete the modifications in May 2015. It will manage the work from Aker Solutions' offices in Stavanger.

The work is part of ConocoPhillips's Eldfisk II 35-40 billion kroner redevelopment plan (OGJ Online Mar. 18, 2011).

Eldfisk lies in 70-75 m of water on Block 2/7, production license 018, about 300 km off Norway.

The field, discovered in 1970, started production in 1979.

Operator ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS holds a 35.112% interest in the production license. Partners are Eni Norge AS 12.388%, Petoro AS 5%, Statoil 7.604%, and Total E&P Norge AS 39.896%.
