HOUSTON, Feb. 21
– Storm Tunisia, a subsidiary of Chinook Energy Inc., has set production casing at the TT4 exploratory well at Sud Remada, Tunisia, said Cygam Energy Inc., Calgary.

Casing was set to total depth of 1,745 m, and the well awaits completion. The well was drilled on the 67 sq km TT structure. The primary targets, the Ordovician Jeffara and Bir Ben Tartar reservoirs, were proven productive in the TT2 discovery well 6 km to the northwest and were also present in the TT3 appraisal well 7.6 km to the west.

An extensive logging and wireline test program undertaken over the Ordovician section confirmed that two zones interpreted as hydrocarbon bearing in the TT2 discovery well are extensive over the large TT structure. The TT2 well has produced more than 105,000 bbl of sweet, 44° gravity crude on natural flow.

Completion is to start in early March and involve multiple fracture stimulations of the Bir Ben Tartar, Jeffara, and Tannezuft formations in the TT4, TT3 and TT2 wells.

Under a development plan submitted to Tunisian authorities in January 2011, Chinook would drill the TT5 development well in the 2011 second quarter and tentatively five more development wells by the end of the year.

Six other structures, including the 74 sq km El Bell anomaly 17 km northeast of the TT2 discovery well, and several leads have been identified on the 1.2 million acre Sud Remada block.

Cygam received approval to extend the Bazma permit for 1 year to July 27, 2012, and plans to drill one deep Ordovician well on the permit in late 2011. Cygam received a 2-year extension to May 12, 2013, for the Sud Tozeur permit by committing to acquire a 200 sq km 3D seismic survey just north of El Franig field in the 2011 third quarter and by committing to drill a 4,500-m Ordovician exploratory test on the permit.
