Texas: St. Louis lime horizontal well finaled

Range Resources Corp., Fort Worth, completed industry’s first successful horizontal well in Mississippian St. Louis lime in the last quarter of 2010 in the Texas Panhandle, the company said.

HOUSTON, Feb. 23
– Range Resources Corp., Fort Worth, completed industry’s first successful horizontal well in Mississippian St. Louis lime in the last quarter of 2010 in the Texas Panhandle, the company said.

The well, in northwestern Roberts County, Tex., was tested at rates of 360 b/d of oil, 543 b/d of natural gas liquids, and 13.8 MMcfd of gas net.

Range’s website indicates the company has 71 horizontal and six vertical St. Louis location in inventory and that it plans to drill two horizontal and four vertical St. Louis wells in 2011.
